The 32nd Space Foundation Space Symposium took place from April 11-14 at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. This was CEAVCO Audio Visual’s 10th year supporting the premier global, commercial, civil, military, and emergent space conference. Featured speakers included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and retired astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin.
Each year, the Space Symposium brings together space leaders from around the world to discuss, address, and dream about the future of space. The event attracts almost 11,000 participants from 30 nations.
CEAVCO has been a long-term partner with the Space Foundation, supplying a multi-screen video system, audio, and lighting for the annual event. CEAVCO’s planning for each event begins six months in advance, and the Space Foundation has been extremely pleased with our continued collaboration.
CEAVCO Audio Visual recently produced an event at the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse located at the UCHealth Training Center, the Denver Broncos team headquarters. The 115,000-square-foot indoor practice facility is situated on 13.5 acres in Englewood, Colorado. The booking company for the UCHealth Training Center hosted many of the region’s top meeting and event planners at the inaugural event.
It was the first function where an outside group was invited to host an event in the new building. Guests were treated to a close-up view of the Super Bowl 50 Lombardi Trophy and were allowed to tour the facility, purchase merchandise at the Broncos Team Store, and run on the practice field. The event was a big success.
As a partner of both the Denver Broncos and the Stadium Management Company based out of Sports Authority Field at Mile High, CEAVCO has supported internal events at the facility on a number of occasions.
The facility underwent significant renovations in 2014, and CEAVCO is looking forward to working with the Broncos to enhance the possibilities for future events. Production-friendly additions may include rigging and drape options, load-in accessibility enhancements, and power system upgrades.

In February, the Rental & Staging Network (RSN) hosted two important meetings in New Orleans: the RSN Board’s Long Range Planning meeting and the annual Spring Meeting.
The group focused on RSN’s core values: Community, Trust, and Shared Knowledge. Attendees participated in roundtables focused on Marketing, Sales and Operations in the AV production industry.
As with all RSN meetings, the Spring Meeting was a great opportunity to network, discuss best practices face to face with fellow RSN members, and brainstorm ideas for RSN’s continued growth.
On January 21, CEAVCO celebrated its 55th birthday. Jack Emerson’s original vision from 1961 is still at the core of CEAVCO’s success today.
Says Jack: “When I came to Colorado to explore opportunities, federal funds were being invested in education, and schools were buying a lot of audio visual equipment. I saw it as a good opportunity because I had always wanted to be in business for myself and live where I wanted to live.”
Today, the company is run by Jack’s son, Matt. “I have an early memory as a child of being taught a lesson about honesty and integrity,” Matt says, “and that lesson has stuck with me throughout my entire life. We’ve incorporated those values into the company — we’re committed to always doing the right thing for the client.”
Jack knew from the start that surrounding himself with the right people was key to the success of his business. “You have to be ready to adapt to changes in the marketplace and changes in technology,” he says, “and we have done that over the years. A great place to work attracts really good people, and really good people attract customers.”
